How many of you wear ratty t-shirts to bed at night? Maybe it’s time for some better summer sleepwear!
Last week a reader from Hawaii sent me this question, and I promised to answer it before summer slipped away:
I have a conundrum.
I’m a mom of a 13, 10, and we do foster care for ages 0-6 yo but on the other side I have been married for 15 years and realized that my poor husband has been seeing me in ratty shirts and holey shorts for the last 13 years and he deserves better. My problem is that I have to get up and feed the babies that come to our house and don’t necessarily want to redress while the baby is crying and if my 10yo son gets up that he wouldn’t see too much of me.
The other glitch is that I do have a robe but we live in paradise and have no AC so when it’s 80+ in my house I’m not interested in covering up more.
Is there any hope for me? am I over thinking this?
Yes, there’s hope for you, and HOPEFULLY I’ve got some answers for you today!
I actually really enjoy clothes, but I know many of my readers HATE shopping. So I’ve put together a pictorial guide of nightgowns I think are modest enough for your sons to catch a glimpse of you, but still fun for your husband!
Here are some main things to consider when you’re looking for summer sleepwear that will actually work for you! You want:
1. Summer Sleepwear Needs to be Comfortable
It can’t be tight or fit weirdly around the bust/waist. The reason we turn to ratty T-shirts is because they are comfortable. They’re not tight, they don’t hug us wrong, and they move when we roll over. But so do lots of other sleepwear possibilities!
2. Summer Sleepwear Needs to Be Cool
You don’t want long sleeves, or anything that’s stifling. You don’t want stuff that sticks to you.But you also want these things:
3. Good Sleepwear Should Have Shape
You are a woman. And it’s okay to be a woman. It’s okay for your children to see that you’re a woman. The problem with ratty T-shirts is that they have absolutely no shape. You could be a man under there. And if you’re heading for bed–where very distinct man/woman things tend to happen–you don’t want to look like you couldn’t care less about being a woman. First, because it’s not nice to your husband. You’re the only woman he’s allowed to look at–so let him look! But second because it sends a message to you: I’m not a sexual being. I’m not really a woman. And that’s not a good message if you want to get in the mood later!
4. Good Sleepwear Shouldn’t Let Everything Hang Out
At the same time, you can’t be mortified if your teenage son were to see you. I have some sleepwear that my teens don’t see me in, that I really only use for special occasions (like anniversaries, etc.). It’s NOT sleepwear, actually. It’s what you wear BEFORE you go to sleep, and you often don’t wear it for very long. But there is fashion that falls in the middle. It isn’t shapeless, but it doesn’t show a ton of cleavage or reveal anything to your sons you wouldn’t be comfortable with them seeing.
Yes, modesty is important, but you are in your own home. And it’s also important that your children see that you are comfortable in your skin and take pride in your marriage. So let’s try to find some summer sleepwear options that satisfy all four conditions:
1. The T-Shirt Look
Some women just LOVE t-shirts at night, mostly because they’re cotton and they’re comfortable. But LOTS of things are cotton and comfortable. And even if you want to do the t-shirt look, you can do it in a way that is at least a little bit more attractive.
Jockey makes some sleep shirts that are like T-shirts, but they’re longer. And they pull in at the waist and have a V, so they show you have some shape.
Here’s the Regular Summer Sleepshirt and the Plus Sized Summer Sleepshirt:
These are JUST as comfortable as T-shirts, but they’re much more attractive. So you can’t tell me that the only thing that’s comfortable enough to wear is an old T-shirt. It’s just not true!
2. The Classic Cotton Nightgown with Some Detail
Then there’s your classic cotton nightgown, with a very lightweight material but still some detailing around the bust to make it look feminine, like this Eyelet Trim Pleated Summer Nightgown:
Definitely looks feminine, but still very long so that you don’t have to be embarrassed if your preteen boys see you.
Here’s another one with smock tatting–this one emphasizes the bust more, but I still think it’s fine for your boys to see you.
3. The Satin Nightgown with Some Sheen
Here’s a short flutter-sleeved nightgown that isn’t cotton, but is still cool because it doesn’t stick to the body. It’s feminine (V-neck and detailing at the shoulders) and it’s attractive, but it doesn’t let things “hang out”.
You could even wear this one through most of your pregnancy because there’s room for baby, and it’s an ideal shape for those who are rather big on top.
Here’s another option with lots of detailing around the chest, but still really loose in the sleeves and waist/hips:
This is your typical “classic” nightgown, but it avoids looking like a granny gown because of the great colour and all the details.
4. Full Length Nightgowns
There’s something about a full-length nightgown that is just very luxurious–and even sexy! They really aren’t hot when you’re sleeping in them.
Shadowline has a wonderful line of nightgowns that are comfy and not too expensive (most, again, under $40).
Here’s a modest nightgown with straps that’s really cool:
And here’s one that’s more form-fitting, and much more romantic, but still not mortifying if your sons see:
Personally, the nightgown that I wear the most is a full-length satin one (it actually was my mother’s 40 years ago!), and it’s so vintage and pretty. I just feel nice in it. So I think every woman who can afford it at all should invest in a full-length nightgown.
For summer sleepwear, I think you can get by with one full-length and one shorter, more casual one. There are also the two-piece choices, of course, but I thought I’d just focus on nightgowns here. My feeling is that it’s perfectly okay for teenage boys to see you in any of these, though some of you may not be so keen on the ones that do outline the bust more. That really is a personal choice.
You can be comfortable and cool while still being attractive.
And that’s important–it shows our husbands that we respect and appreciate them enough to put in an effort, and it sends a signal to our own bodies that “I am a woman, and I like feeling like a woman.” If you want to keep your sex life alive, you need to send that message!
If you like some of these nightgowns, but there’s no money for you to buy something for yourself right now, you can always add them to your Amazon wish list, or–here’s a tip I love–create a Pinterest board called “Gifts I’d Like” and add things to it. Then show your husband how to access the board. Add stuff throughout the year, and then for birthdays, anniversaries, or Christmas, your husband can go choose something from that board! It’s easier for him, and it’s fun for you.
So there are my choices for summer sleepwear for those of us who are also moms. What do you think? What do you wear to bed? Let me know in the comments!
UPDATE: I’m getting some requests in the comments for ideas for 2-piece summer sleepwear that isn’t a nightgown. Sounds like a great idea for a follow-up post (and it will be fun because I had fun putting this one together!) So look for it soon.
No sleepwear works for me & my husband. We joke about my almost-50 year old pj’s and his just-older-than-50 pj’s. Even in the winter (although in the winter, I might get up later and put pyjamas on.)
This is great, thank you!!! My kids are still younger – 9, 7 and 3, but my son (the 3 year old) is getting very curious about why mommy looks so different. Ha! And living here in Vienna with no a/c and it gets into the 90’s in our apartment, sleepwear can get tricky! I also have to be careful with spaghetti straps because after having 3 kids, the ladies don’t stay out like they used to. Ha! Thanks for these ideas!!
I just wear soft cotton camis and short shorts to bed year ’round. But then I don’t have any boys and my girls are little. When they get bigger or we have some boys, I might have to make some adjustments.
What I do when we’re visiting with relatives is to put a soft, oversized t-shirt and some stretchy cotton pants over my cami and shorts before we leave our room. That way if I need to get up to use the bathroom or when I go to breakfast, I’m covered. And it takes, literally, 30 seconds to put them on.
I agree. Shorts and tank tops are WAY cuter than these night gowns. I would feel so old and awkward in those things.
There is nothing wrong with wearing shorts or tank tops (or pants or even t-shirts) to bed. Just make sure they look NEW and not worn out.
And ANY option can look immodest (or frightening) without a bra!
I can’t stand wearing just a nightgown. My rather overweight thighs stick and get sweaty. I’ve even tried summer sleep shorts and I don’t know who the heck they’re designed for, but on my 5’1″ frame they’re basically up in my crotch all night (as in: I might as well just wear undies and no shorts with as much as they cover). So I always fall back on long PJ pants (some 10+ years old) and an old Tshirt (or hubby’s t-shirt). Sometimes a tank or something if it’s hot. Any options for attractive PJ’s that aren’t nightgowns for the overweight (and super busty) among us?
Look up Some Intimates online. Great tanks (with a little built in support) and pants!
Same problems here! I usually have good luck at Walmart – if I buy a couple sizes big especially. I always get hot while I sleep. I like the sleep sets with shorts especially because they offer adequate coverage for being around my kids and yet they are super comfy! I do wear a robe when there are visitors.
I found some really nice pieces (either tank top with capri pants or night shirt style) in a racer back tank top style so the straps don’t fall down at the store with the red bullseye.
Soma Intimates has WONDERFUL soft, breathable pajamas in lots of pretty styles that are still modest enough to wear around the kiddos. They also have awesome online clearance sales. 🙂 Good quality too- I have pajama sets (shorts and adjustable strap tank tops) that are 3 years old with no signs of wear, in spite of very regular use.
My husband’s favorite pajamas on me are boxer shorts and a ribbed cotton tank. I’m a lucky girl! LOL I get to be comfy! And it’s pretty modest. I also have a pair of cotton capri pajama bottoms that are fairly cool and of course modest.
I’m betting that all of these models are wearing bras under their nightgowns for support and lining. 90% of these options will lose their modesty without a bra. And for those who NEED support (ahem – most ANYONE who’s had a baby), these options will also lose their attractiveness without a bra. I like to find tops that have breathable support and then shorts or comfy pants. I won’t worry too much about the length of my shorts around the kids because they see more when I swim. And if we have company I pick the pants.
That’s actually why I like the Precious Curves nightgowns–because the elastic material around it adds support to the bustline. I have one like that and it’s great! I also really like the one with smocking around the bust, because that gives some support. The other ones would be fine if you were smaller on top, though–and hey, they’re all better than ratty T-shirts which have no support either! 🙂
I tend to pick the pants when we have company, too.
This is wonderful! It has been on my mind for a while, so thanks for giving options. Now, no good deed goes unpunished… when it turns to that season I don’t want to think about, it would be great for a follow-up of how to stay warm – sleeping! 😉 – when the the man beside you is too warm to turn the heat on, without his wearing sweatshirts and socks (yep, I know.) 😉 Thanks so much for this, Sheila!
I LOVED this post! We have three boys 4-14! I have struggled with the pj battle our whole 8 years of marriage. My issue is, and don’t anyone take offense, but I just turned 29 and alot of these choices look older. I pointed out a nightgown to my sister at a store and she said “That looks like Grandma’s nightgown!” I don’t want to look like my Grandma! But I still want to look nice for my hubs and still be covered enough for my boys……..
I agree with you! My husband would not be attracted to me in those styles, he’d wonder what they heck was wrong with me because it’d be very out of character. I like the juniors section pjs and around back to school they do a lot of cute lounge wear for college aged kids. I stock up on the cute bright colored shorts and capris and the tighter more fitted tees and tanks, they make great sleep wear and although it’s not lingerie it’s sexy enough for my husband as long as it comes off!
Hi everyone!
Thanks for your comments! I will write a follow-up post about 2 piece pj sets, for sure! 🙂
Just two things:
1. I was asked specifically about nightgowns, so I wanted to feature nightgowns here. I also think that there is something really romantic about a nightgown, even if it’s something “grandma” wore. It’s just classy. So I do encourage more people to try them!
2. There are a number of people who read this blog who are really concerned about modesty, and that often limits how they dress (they do the baggy T-shirt thing, for instance). And then they wear these to bed, too. I know that’s not everyone who reads this blog, but it is a large number. And those people likely lean more towards this than they do the tank top/short option for bed. And I wanted to show that you could be classy and attractive while still being modest.
I know other people struggle with other things–modesty isn’t the concern as much as how to fit a sagging bust into something for bed! So I will try to deal with that in a separate post. Just wanted to let you all know that I understand that some of you may think nightgowns aren’t that attractive. But honestly, you need to try one of the vintage full-length ones. They do feel really classy and romantic!
I completely agree. I used to be a cami top and shorts kind of girl, and still am at times, but there is just something about a vintage nightgown that makes me feel classy and mommy-ish all at the same time. They’re beautiful and modest. I have a 13 year old boy, and feel completelt comfortable wearing them around him. Thank you for the post and links!
I suppose the ratty tshirt might be a step up….
at the moment it’s dh’s ratty tshirt…. and when his pj pants shrink, I get those, too!
hm…. could do better. maybe. 🙂
An idea for those who wear little (or nothing) during the summertime is a short, silky or lightweight robe to throw on when you need to get up.
I like that idea. I do have a satin VS robe for summer i love. it’s short sleeved. lightweight and cooling satin.
Could you post the name of this? Would love to get one!
I was just going to recommend doing this! I actually sewed myself a lightweight summer robe out of some vintage sheets. It’s held up pretty well even though I wear it a lot.
I would suggest being super sexy all the time, and just have a bathrobe that you put on if you need to open your bedroom door for any child. We have nine children and it is very important for us to keep a boundary and the door locked. That doesn’t mean you can’t be available in the middle of the night when needed. That time needs to be sacred between husband and wife.
Kohls carries nightgowns by Vera wang that are the ONLY thing i can stand to wear to bed in the summer. in the winter i’m freezing and wear victoria’s secret satins and flannels. but i love the softness and comfort of these shorter, v-neck styles from Vera Wang that Kohls has. find a sale day and get them cheaper, they are worth every penny to be cute, comfy, and appropriate to get up with little boys in the night time.
here’s a link to one…http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-1711012/simply-vera-vera-wang-chic-escape-chemise.jsp
We are empty nesters. I sleep in the buff but have several robes that are quick to put on and cover everything when need be.
In summer I usually sleep only in underwear (which is usually cute and romantic) or even naked because it’s so hot at night. And when I need to feed the baby or use a bathroom I just put on a robe which takes me 5 seconds. This lets me have a comfortable sleep, look nice and I am not worried that my daughter or our in-laws will see anything that only my husband can see.
I like the options you picked ;-).
One thing I’ve learned, is that it’s important to try things on! I’ve recently bought myself some new dresses and I would have never know how cute they’d look on me if I hadn’t tried them on. The same goes for nightwear. What might look frumpy on the hanger, can actually look very cute.
At the moment I have mainly tank tops with matching shorts, but they’re definitely not ratty. And the one pair that is getting old and baggy will be replaced soon.
When you live in a place where it’s hot, you really don’t want to have to put on a robe, even a light and/or short one. I used to live in a much milder climate and it’s hard to image it being so hot, even at night. You really want something that works without.
I think it’s a personal preference, honestly. Where I live, it regularly gets in the high 90s and 100s during the summer, and for a while, I couldn’t afford to use the air conditioner. I’d sleep in as little as possible, but if I had to get up and interact with people suddenly (roommate emergency, had to use the bathroom, someone’s at the door) my lightweight robe was a lifesaver.
any two piece ideas? i really like to wear bottoms. i have boys also.
I happen to like nightgowns for wearing to bed. I hate wearing a bra to bed ( even as a busty gal), so my kids just have to deal with it. They don’t even seem to notice, but I have breastfeed all four so it just isn’t a big deal here. My Mom had 3 boys. She wore a robe to cover up when she was out of the bedroom. I wear a robe if my nightie is a bit on the scanty side. My husband actually got me one with my name on it for Christmas a couple years ago. I do have some ratty t-shirts that I need to replace. I would like to sew something, but haven’t had time!
As some other ladies have alluded to, I am curious about whether these styles or others mentioned in the comments would still be modest without a bra. It is NOT HEALTHY to wear a bra at night–there are correlations with breast cancer when wearing a bra more than 12 hours a day. And my problem is not that I am large, but that after nursing five babies, my nipples ALWAYS look “cold,” lol. Then there is also the leaning over issue… which is why I default to the t-shirt with a pair of men’s cotton boxers. I’d rather wear something cute and sexy like a cami or tank, but my 14-yr-old son does not need to see my protruding nipples when I come out of the bedroom. Anybody know of any sleepwear that is lined in the bust area without being constricting?
That’s where a robe comes in handy. I would never parade around in front of my boys in just a gown, or pj’s. A robe holds everything in.
Have you thought about something like swimsuit liners? I’m nursing and living in nursing camis right now, and sometimes I’ll wear nursing pads not because I leak really but so I don’t get any headlight action. I’m weird I guess. I’d rather nurse in public than walk around headlighting folks 🙂
Natalie- not weird at all!! I am the same way- Don’t care a bit about nursing in public. But I don’t own a single bra that doesn’t have enough padding to hide my nipples. 😛
I love the Precious Curves options. However, whenever I try to buy anything at Amazon.com it says it won’t ship to my address in Ontario. Where can I buy them? I think it’s great that you address these kind of issues and have some resolutions. Keep it up!
I completely agree that we should ditch the ratty t-shirts for something more attractive and alluring. I realize the gal with the question mentioned that she lives in a hot climate, but as others have mentioned, a lightweight robe would be a great option. Then you don’t need to worry about finding a modest nightie if you can easily throw on a lightweight cover-up. Here are a few I’ve run across.
I really like the length on this one. Many lighter weight robes are just a bit short to be running around in front of my teenagers in:
http://www.soma.com/store/browse/product.jsp?maxRec=34&pageId=1&productId=8570044576&viewAll=&prd=Embraceable+Cool+Nights+Short+Robe+Sketched+Skin&subCatId=cat40116&color=&fromSearch=&inSeam=&posId=7&catId=cat40092&cat=Sleepwear+Robes++Slippers&onSale=&colorFamily=&maxPg=3&size=
A button up sleep shirt would be another easy way to cover up:

Ooh, here’s a sleeveless sleep shirt. A tad short, but there is a plus size one that is longer.
http://www1.macys.com/shop/product/lauren-ralph-lauren-sleeveless-sleepshirt?ID=1461192&CategoryID=59737&LinkType=#fn=SLEEPWEAR_TYPE%3DNightgowns%20%26amp%3B%20Sleep%20Shirts%3B%3BRobes%26sp%3D2%26spc%3D131%26ruleId%3D72%26slotId%3D65
I personally sleep in nothing, so I have a winter weight robe as well as a summer weight robe to cover up. I don’t have to worry much though… my day is half over before my teenagers are even thinking about getting up… haha.
I’m just happy I’m not wearing a nursing bra to bed at night anymore….it’s been over a year (for the second time!) thanks to leaking milk! My husbands stoked to see a tshirt/tank with no bra in the evenings lately 😉
But yes – what is with the huge nipples after kids?! Even with a lined bra I still often look ‘cold’!
I buy nice looking flare leg yoga/workout pants. They aren’t cheap, but they last a long time, and they look nice enough to wear out in public (I even wear mine to church when it’s too hot for dress clothes). Add a new V-neck t-shirt and I’m decent for my kids and company. I tend to wear my pj’s all day, so I prefer to look somewhat kept up. When hubby is “in the mood” I keep a modest assortment of nighties around, just in case. 😉
More than just for your husband, nightwear is for you too. I want to FEEL sexy in our bed, available to him. As a delighted wife of a restored marriage, I have learned that I want to come to our bed ready for my husband. When the house is empty, that’s with nothing, and a robe nearby. I have lots of cute short nightgowns in dark colors with patterns– these camouflage nipples and other body issues. There are no panties (so when his hands wander… I’m unencumbered!). After augmentation surgery, I have worn a soft bra/sports-type bra for support at nights. My favorite places to find cute, sexy but “modest” nighties are at discount stores like Ross, Marshalls and TJ Maxx; occasionally at Kohls. Don’t underestimate what you wear to bed. A husband can read unattractive sleepwear as your armor to intimacy! I mean, there are times in the winter when flannels and fleeces feel nice for lounging about– some are cute– but once under the covers, let HIM be your body warmer! DH loves to warm me up! Lots of comfortable, sexy options that give the signal that “I’m all yours!” Trust me, once you learn to say “yes” to your husband’s love, once he knows he won’t be turned down, dynamics change in ways you never could imagine! Dressing to be attractive to your husband, IMHO, applies 24/7.
Great post! Practical & fun!
I so love this post… but I, too, fall into the category of we have eight kids, ages 4 to 16. My go to is definitely the cami tanks and matching short sets that aren’t super short but not super long either. I have a 5’5″ frame and an average figure, too. My husband doesn’t complain too much 😉
I love this post and I have to agree with the previous commenters about Soma. This summer I tried their “cool nights” fabric and even in the Texas heat, these pajamas are really cool. I have two of the chemises because I like the feminine look and I have to say that they are modest. Some are cut low, but the two I have keep me covered up and I am not small chested. They also have night shirts and other options available.
Your husbands are blessed men …
I usually sleep in nothing (we both do) , but have a light satin strap nightgown ready to pull over my head if a child should call out or I need the toilet during the night. My nightgowns are lightweight and on the pretty and shapely side and always have a band or something under the bust to keep the girls in the right position.
I just feel that if I cover up in pj’s I send out a signal that I am “unavailable” to my husband and that is not really what I want for my marriage. Even if I wear the nightgown to sleep I don’t wear anything underneath. I have never had a problem with feeling too exposed in front of the kids, as someone else mentioned, they do see me in bathing suit!
I also have summer/winter robes to cover up if needed.
Of course the exception to the “bottomless rulp” is when I am on my periods!
“Some women just LOVE t-shirts at night, mostly because they’re cotton and they’re comfortable. But LOTS of things are cotton and comfortable. And even if you want to do the t-shirt look, you can do it in a way that is at least a little bit more attractive.”
OR you could have a husband who thinks you look just as stunningly sexy and gorgeous in your big ol’ T-shirts as you do in anything. Really.
Sorry. I really could not resist stating that. I mean, I do get it, though. I definitely like to feel sexy! But, the raw truth is, many men don’t put this much care into it as some of us make it seem. I don’t know about you ladies’ husbands, but some of us have men who are simply satisfied to have us, no matter what we’re wearing. I mean, dressing up in anything is for US, not for him. It’s when we make it all about him that we kind of lose ourselves and the reasoning behind why we wear certain things — which should be solely for what it does for US. If I’m as confident in my T-shirt as I am in a pair of crotchless undies and a bralette, believe me, I might as well be wearing that pair of crotchless undies and bralette, in his eyes! Maybe it’s just me and what kind of man I’ve gotten used to, but maybe we should consult a few husbands on this.
On the other hand — I do understand the enjoyment of feeling sexy in what you wear. I’m with you all on that. I want comfy+sexy and believe it’s possible. And if you do happen to only have T-shirts, well, there’s plenty ways to spice that up — boyshorts that are cheeky. Nothing underneath. It never fails me, even if the T-shirt is holey.
One more time — I do understand wanting stylish, sexy-ish night clothes & I like em’ too! But, I felt compelled to make a few comments on how it’s not always about that, and how you can be sexy no matter what you’re wearing, and also how we should not feel pressured to do anything to our appearance “for the man.” That’s not healthy thinking. It’s for US. Perhaps wearing lingerie brings something out in US and it makes him feel good too, but it’s because of what it brings out in US. Again, I think we should make this stuff about us and not let it be all about “well, if you want to keep him interested” or “he deserves better than the natural you.” Not healthy.
I have a great solution if you love T-shirts. After reading your book, I actually pulled my T-shirts out and looked up on youtube. How to make a racerback tank top out of a t-shirt and how to make a sexy tank top out of a T-shirt and have the best of both worlds!!! I still get the comfort of my T-shirts, but they are now tailored to be sexy. I have 4 kids, 2 boys and teenage girl and a 4 yr old girl. Lots of eyes watching. And I feel comfortable wearing them around them. If they come out a little loose, you can put a tank top under it. My husband LOVES them! They show your curves and allow some “easy access” for later 🙂 I also cut those baggy pajama pants to shorts. Shorter than I would wear out but comfortable to wear around the house 🙂 My husband actually prefers this look to nightgowns or lingerie 🙂
OH I love this idea!! What a neat compromise on comfort and sexy!
I actually really hate sleeping in nightgowns. I bought one for the same reasons you outline here, but it always ends up bunched around my waist when I’m sleeping and that’s not comfortable. I’m very much looking forward to your post on two-piece sleepwear!
Thank you for the nightgown suggestions. Normally I wear a short and tee shirt pj set, but I’m now pregnant with twins and am finding the elastic waists on my shorts are too uncomfortable. I snagged one of my husband’s tee shirts to wear at night and while it’s more comfortable, it’s not exactly a cute option. I’ll have to look up the flutter sleeved night gown. Thanks!
Thanks for this post! Love the topic, totally needed this.
I only feel comfortable sleeping in cotton…..synthetic fabrics make me sweat. I also like my shoulders covered because I’m cold natured. This is another reason people sleep in T-shirts! It is HARD to find 100% cotton pajamas, but Ralph Lauren has a few options (I found them online at Macy’s), and there are one or two other brands with options at Khol’s and JCPenney’s!.
All so very pretty! And thank you VERY much for showing some plus sizes! I really appreciate that. I need to get a few new nightgowns. I upgraded a couple years ago. It’s nice to not feel frumpy when going to bed.
These all sleepwears are so pretty. Such type of sleepwear are perfect option for moms for feeling cool and comfortable when sleeping. Lingerie would be one of the best option for moms to feel comfortable on bed at night.
I COMPLETELY AGREE about wearing soft, comfortable, attractive nightwear to bed, but it is important to me for my “girls” to feel somewhat supported. I actually do wear bras to bed, but definitely not the kind of bras I wear during the daytime! There are soft, stretchy bras that are perfect for this (the kind that don’t have any clasps or wires, that will slip over your head), some with pretty detailing or made of stretch lace, which my husband finds sexy while still being comfortable. When I’m nursing, the sleep nursing bras work great, but when I’m between children, there are other options! I asked the lingerie salesperson in a department store for help finding bras or bralettes that are appropriate for sleeping, and now I know what to look for. I’ve found options in Target as well, so you don’t have to spend a lot of money. Hope this helps!
Nice, each of these summer sleepwear are very beautiful. Seems like these will be highly comfortable wearing during sleeping time. I’m looking forward to purchase some of these summer sleepwear for me.
From one mother to another, I really appreciate summer sleepwear tips. I agree that wearing a t-shirt is really comfortable, and so I will work on wearing more form flattering things. I really love the idea of a cotton nightgown, so I’ll be sure to get more things like them. Thanks for these suggestions!
